Intersport x Onestock A highly successful collaboration
INTERSPORT is an international group operating through a network of more than 5,500 stores in 66 countries. INTERSPORT France is a cooperative made up of retailers who own and run their own stores, a Head Office based in Longjumeau (southern suburbs of Paris) and a logistics hub in Saint-Vulbas (near Lyon). INTERSPORT France consists of 652 stores and is experiencing strong growth in its turnover of 2.2 billion euros. The brand, currently the leader in the sports apparel market in France, wanted to continue its digital transformation by enabling each store to sell its products direct on intersport.fr, in order to offer a wider range and a greater amount of stock.
For some time now, Intersport has chosen to give priority to having stock close to its customers, rather than in a central omnichannel warehouse. The chosen products were therefore available at a local level, but not nationally, in order to provide the quickest and most accurate solution that met the customers’ needs.

The major challenges: unifying stock to widen the product range and increase its depth
The first requirement that OneStock’s Order Management System (OMS) responded to was the widening of the online product range: the OMS aggregates all stock across the entire store network, unifying it and thus displaying it as available on the website, intersport.fr.The unification of stock now allows the brand to offer about 90% of its product catalogue with the option of home delivery.
At the same time, the OneStock solution helps to increase the depth of stock available, i.e. the stock available online is not just that in the warehouse, but that in the warehouse and the stores. As a result, the number of sizes of a particular product or the number of items in a particular size increases, preventing online stockouts.
Thanks to a unified and reliable overview of its global stock levels, INTERSPORT was able to implement the Ship from Store functionality of OneStock’s OMS. The order orchestration rules, customised for INTERSPORT, prioritise the store linked to the online customer’s loyalty account. The system therefore offers a seamless omnichannel experience to customers, but also to the associated retailers by helping them to increase their sales opportunities. As a result, today two-thirds of orders are shipped from stores, and online turnover is experiencing strong growth.

Easy in-store implementation thanks to OneStock’s simple and intuitive application
The project, supported by all Head Office management, has quickly fulfilled the expectations of stores and their owners, and with good reason. In barely three months, Ship from Store delivered very good results with only 42 pilot stores. The aim is to get about a hundred stores on board between now and the end of the year.
As Matthieu Pellet, Digital & Innovation Director at INTERSPORT, confesses, the brand’s stores are performing significantly better. One of the stores, located in Mandelieu (near Cannes), shipped about 780 parcels in only one day, a record! The successful implementation of Ship from Store has not only improved the global turnover but has also prompted store owners to organise themselves differently and to hire new staff.
