Reserve and Collect use cases
Luxury Retailers – personalized shopping experience

How it works
Customer reserves online
Customer browses your ecommerce site as normal and selects Reserve and Collect at checkout. The OneStock widget displays real-time availability across all store locations, opening hours, and estimated pickup times. Customer selects preferred store and completes reservation without payment.
Store receives notification
Selected store receives instant push notification on the OneStock mobile fulfillment app. Store associate reviews reservation details, including customer information, reserved items, and pickup deadline to prepare for efficient fulfillment.
Associate picks and validates
Store associate locates reserved items and scans barcodes to validate accuracy (size, color, condition). Items are bagged and set aside in designated reservation area, preventing accidental sales.
Customer receives ready notification
Once associate confirms pick in the app, OneStock automatically triggers email/SMS notification to customer: “Your reservation is ready for collection.” Message includes store address, opening hours, and reservation reference code.
Customer collects and completes purchase
Customer arrives at store and the associate scans the collection code. If the customer decides to purchase the associate completes the payment at POS. A reservation converted to a sale as well as a cross-selling opportunity. If they decide against a purchase, the item is immediately placed back into inventory available to sell.
What is the difference between Reserve and Collect and Click and Collect?
Reserve and Collect allows customers to reserve items online without payment, then complete the purchase in-store after inspecting the product. Click and Collect (or BOPIS, buy online, pickup in store) requires full payment online before collection. Reserve and Collect is ideal for high-consideration purchases where customers want to see or try products before committing, significantly reducing returns and increasing purchase confidence.
How long are items held for customers who reserve them?
Reservation timeframes are fully configurable based on your business rules. OneStock enables time-bound reservations that automatically expire if customers don’t collect within the defined period. This prevents stock blocking and no-shows while giving customers enough time to visit the store. Typical reservation windows range from 24 hours to several days, depending on product category and customer segment.
Can customers reserve multiple products from different stores?
Yes, OneStock’s Reserve and Collect widget supports multi-product reservations. However, each item is typically reserved from a single store location selected by the customer. The system displays real-time availability across your entire store network, allowing customers to choose their preferred pickup location based on proximity, opening hours, and stock availability.
How do store associates manage Reserve and Collect orders?
Store associates receive instant push notifications when customers place reservations. Using the OneStock mobile fulfillment application, they locate and scan items to validate accuracy, then prepare them for customer collection. Once ready, the system automatically sends email or SMS notifications to customers. The interface is designed for simplicity, requiring minimal training and enabling efficient store fulfillment.
How does Reserve and Collect integrate with existing e-commerce platforms?
OneStock provides a dedicated Reserve and Collect widget that embeds directly into your e-commerce platform (Shopify, Adobe Commerce, Salesforce, SAP, etc.) through APIs. The widget connects to OneStock’s real-time inventory engine to display accurate store-level availability. Integration typically requires minimal development, and OneStock offers pre-built connectors for major e-commerce platforms.
